WUC Beach Volleyball: High performance sport, excitement and fun also besides the courts

The matches are hot, but the guests of the WUBC are also offered a lot of entertainment away from the courts.

Visitors of the stand of WUBC's health partner, Die Techniker (TK), can train their eye-hand coordination at the T-Wall either alone or against each other. For refreshment, guests directly go to the TK Smoothie-Bar, where one can recharge their power reserves. Visitors can choose from the following: Green with salad and algae, yellow with coconut milk and mango and red with berries.

For all those who are still looking for the right sportswear, a visit to the beach stand of “ballarina Beachvolleyball” is worthwhile. The brand stands for sustainability, which is also an important aspect of the WUBC strategy. All the garments in the performance line are produced in Germany. Fair working conditions are thus guaranteed.

Not only the athletes convince with their dynamic appearance, but also the first BMW X2, which the main sponsor BMW is presenting on the event grounds. Product experts are happy to inform all WUBC visitors about the vehicle.

There are also plenty of opportunities for relaxation. From the chill-out area at the main entrance there is a fantastic view to the games on the B-Court. Guests can enjoy non-alcoholic cocktails at Bob-Beachbar during the day and a sundowner in the evening – all this under the eyes of the flamingo mascot "Herbert".

The colourful WUBC side events are rounded off by the connection of science and practice in the second part of the week. At a height measurement station organised by TUM, all guests have the opportunity to have their jumping power measured on July, 12th and 13th. The TU stand also offers the popular merchandising articles as souvenirs from the WUBC, which is taking place on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the TUM. All visitors can test their anti-doping knowledge at the information stand of the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) on 13th of July. Furthermore, NADA staff will be there to answer questions about doping and its consequences.

"We thank all sponsors for their commitment, without which such a great event as the World University Beach Volleyball Championship would not be possible. In addition to the top-class sport offered here, it is also all the side events that make this event something special for the guests," says Dr. Christoph Fischer, Vice President of the Organising Committee and Secretary General of the German University Sports Federation.
